Gambling

This is Vegas. Vegas == Gambling.

Who's gambling? What do you plan on doing, what casinos? Let's get some discussion rolling about the greater aspects of gambling.

I'm mostly a poker player, I'm bought in for the $200 tournement, and I'll play some others i'm sure.

However, I think I'm going to try my luck at Roulette as well, I'm thinking of trying the Dopey Experiment.

Basically, you decide on a #, and you bet the same amount on that # up to 35 times in a row. The odds of you hitting in that 35 times is roughly 60% and once you hit, you are playing with house money (minus what you've lost) from then forward.

It's an interesting idea, the dealer probably finds it annoying, but I am going to give it a shot with $10 bets I think

Nick, I just noticed that you were here in houston, you play in any of the home games.

I am still thinking about hosting con, but if I did it, it would only be an afternoon.

Linn

I play in a number of games - contact me in PMs for details.

As for HostingCon, I pretty much play everything. The best odds in the casino (lowest house edge) is Craps. It's actually one of the more entertaining games too since you (and everyone) tends to get into it.

If anyone wants to learn the game, definitely give me a call and if I'm not in a session, I'll take you down to the craps table.

What does "Psh.." mean? A little intolerance of a differing opinion - or a little humor? It's hard to tell - I trust it's not in-tolerance... at least I hope it's the humor!

Respect those that don't play the game the same way you play it... after all, if they play their game and enjoy it, who is to tell them that their way is "wrong"?

Nice that you have a strategy though - but each to their own eh? Nothing worse than not having choices - and it would be a bland world if everyone made the same choices... there would only be one flavor of ice-cream, one kind of alcohol, one kind of car ... now what fun would that be? To say nothing of the fact that choice in the marketplace is what give us all a job in the end...

It was definitely a little play towards Rodney, not a comment meant to be analyzed and returned in essay format by anyone, I assure you. Quick one liner, stating simply that I think he should step up and give something else a shot, not insulting his choice in Nickle Slots (afterall, when I lose my money, I'm sure I'll be at the nickel slots)

All in all. This is for fun, and it should remain so.

Let's have a good time.

I've never played 3 card poker, but a friend is pushing me to try it in Vegas, so I'll have to learn! We'll definitely hook up for a craps session, it only seems difficult, the way I play, very simple..no "systems"..but it's fun..
