Service with best response to reboots
Which service do you guys think have the best response to reboots?
I've been sitting here waiting for servstra to get someone at their NOC to press a button for 2 1/2 hours , and every minute is killing me.

Get a remote reboot port; you can reboot the server yourself - no waiting . Problem solved.

Unfortunately your issue wasn't that simple, it had to do with a network issue the data center were experiencing at the time which is what caused the delay and also affected a number of our other client's servers.

As mentioned, get a remote reboot port. That can typically be the best response time as it's almost immediate from the moment you detect it. However, do note that not all issues can be solved with a reboot and interactive console input may be needed. In this case, the DC assistance is still needed.
In all the many DCs we used, while their support for other issues leaves much to be desired sometimes, Theplanet has consistently been very fast for manual reboots without fail.

Find a provider that not only offers you a remote reboot port but also "out of band" access such as serial console access or kvm. With this you rarely, if ever, need help from the dc.

some providers I have worked can give you remote reboot: Simpli, Handynetworks. Another doesnt have remote reboot, but they do the reboot within a few minutes: CyberWurx
You can't go wrong with any of these providers

Lots of places are very fast most of the time, but I'm confident you could click a button faster than even the fastest techs could run to your server - I'll jump on the bandwagon and say go for remote reboot if that's important to you.

If the server has crashed and you can't get an SSH session then you need to get someone to go reset it. Having the reboot port means you can remotly turn the power on/off. Whilst you might need someone to login on the console and fix it it does make life easier

A remote reboot port and serial console (or KVM) access will make your life much easier, and allow you to perform almost any function remotely. We even use these features to install the operating system remotely (with help from another server in the rack running DHCP, TFTP, and NFS) on our own servers.

Best way to go usually is go for a provider that will give you a remote reboot interface or provide you with a serial port connection directly in.
