Buyer Beware: "TemplateAlien"
I purchased two text text links from him at http://www.talkvb.com/ as I'm pretty sure many of you did - he was selling them cheap and often. I made the mistake of prepaying for 1 year. In any case, they were up for less than two months and then taken down. If you purchased a link from him that's no longer there, I'm pretty certain he's long gone.
His hotmail email address returned my email to me as failed. He hasn't responded to pm's. The site is protected through whoisguard, so I can't find him that way.
Bleh, sucks to be scammed.

If you find someone with a Silver DomainTools account, I'm sure you could get the owner's information and give him a few nice calls.

If I can't get him some other way, I might just sign up for silver myself. Thanks for the link!

I found his name (or alias?) through paypal. So, if I can get his ip somehow I could find his city. Then I could use a phone book and walla. Then comes the hit man! (for those that don't detect the typed sarcasm - JOKING!) But yes, then come the letters from a lawyer.

IPs don't always accurately show the location of someone.

All excellent ideas I hadn't thought of. I will do both those things, not that I expect to receive any kind of response. Of course, once the thread I open there is deleted, I will have no doubt that fraud has taken place. I'll keep this thread updated with what happens

Abbynormal1, and everyone else involved in this thread;
First off, I would like to intruduce myself as I am the new owner of TalkvB. I'm not sure if that is good or bad, but I recieved notification on talkvb via a thread that you had purchased advertising from Matt Price (aka Artico, vb_Matt, and more I am finding out.)
None the less, I would be happy to continue your advertising (For a full year from the time I place it back up). Please send me your info via PM (at Talkvb preferably, same username (Mark Bolyard).
I appologize for the previous owners "unwillingness" to settle this issue, and would like to inform you that this is not how I conduct myself. I purchased TalkvB from Matt via Namepros, and needless to say, I am finding more and more out about Mr. Price. Like you, Matt will not respond to me via email / pm / etc.
Again, please contact me so I can place your advertising link back up asap, and if you have any questions, you "can" contact me anytime. My info is contained in my profile here, TalkvB, and numberous other forums.
Sincerely,
Mark Bolyard
TalkvB Owner

Well, what you have is someone (Matt) who designed a website, redirected a domain to it to boost the PR, and then sold advertising, then sold the website (To me), then redirected the PR domain elsewhere after the sale, even though it was to remain for 1 year after I purchased the site. Really, it's pretty shameful considering he can design very well. Unfortunatley he needs to realize that he is burning bridges, and on the internet at that.
I did my homework, but apparently not enough. All that aside, I am set to make TalkvB what is should have been. We have some new vBulletin skins in the works, and plan on making it a community with valuable content and resources, not to mention, provide help to everyone who needs it. TalkvB is steadily gaining more and more natural traffic through our own advertising efforts, so hopefully there will be more and more activity to follow.
