So I have $2050 CA(Canadian Dollars) in my bank account now and I'm wondering what kind of server I could build with , it does not matter if its 1u or a 2u server.

I'd checkout some of the builders - rackmountmicro.com is a nice place to start (not affiliated with them - just buy their servers).

Does anyone recommend ebay here?. Also I wanted to know like at what kind of server I would be looking at ex. 4Gb ram , dual processor..

Ebay is a good hunting place if you are careful and know what you want. But just be very careful.

And I can't advice you on what to get as I don't live in that part of the world, so ain't sure how far $2000CAD will get you.

Considered a Dell server? Should be able to get quite a fast dual Xeon with that.

well it also depends on what kind of server ur looking for, do you just want to store big files on it that a few persons download, or do you want to use it as a webserver for high traffic sites?

Apaqdigital.com Definitely recommended. They do all their dealings through ebay I believe, and offer good pricing as well
