Tranfered domain 1 month ago but original registrar still claims I need to renew it

Hi,

I have a situation that has me a little uncomfortable.

I have a domain that I originally registered at MyDomain.com a year ago.

About one month ago I transfered that domain to godaddy.com. The transfer was successfull and now the whois information shows that the registrar is indeed GoDaddy.

That's pretty fine, however, I still can see that domain in my account at mydomain.com, and they think that my domain is going to expire soon and they have been sending me expire notices all this month.

I'm worried that somehow, they could screw up, and by some reason, delete the domain from the domain registry. Even though the registrar is now other company (godaddy) and the domain expire date is one year from now.

It's just that I'm not sure how the domain registry operates, so I don't know if mydomain.com can still make changes to the domain because they think that they still have it.

Thank you!
Jorge

They can't make changes any longer. It's just still in thier system as an active account so the automated reminders still get sent out. I get these from a few registrars that I've moved names off of as well. I've written to tell them, but never hear back.

bear is right here. Some registrars don't delete transferred away domains from their system and you get false reminders.

Just make sure you don't have this domain on auto-renew and your CC is NOT on file at MyDomain.com!

Good luck!

edit: inserted 'NOT'

It's common with MOST of registrars I've tried, so there's no need for the specifics...

Yeah it happened to me. I transferred one domain from namecheap to directi and it was still showing it in namecheap and also sent me renewal notices.
