I'm use to manging a server from a hosting company, use cpanel, plesk etc. I've often use a installation of xampp on my usb pen to develop stuff before uploading.
I want to install my own web server on a separate computer (linux), which i'm ok with.
My question is how the ip address work? Using my whatsmyip.org, all my computers on the network have ip address, i;m i right in assuming that each computer is idenitifed my a subnet address?
When typing my ip address in to the browser i get a the promot from the router, which runs a web server to set it up.
What setting up do i need to do to ensure that when my ip address (static) is
typed in it will go to the right web server on the correct computer?
Can anyone point my in the right direction?
