Do not do business with CNV
Hi all,
On June 7th, 2006 I bought a couple scripts and files from CNV on WHT. You can see his thread below.
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=520318
Here is his post:
Quote:
Hello,
I have the following:
MySpace Script - Example: www.spacepimps.net - $15
SMS Script (World Wide) - Example: www.textit.org - $25
Train Script (Program and php file) - $10
Game Cheat script with over 10,000 cheats - Example: www.cheatweb.net - $25
1300 Myspace Games With Database (For both GameScript and GameSiteScript) and Images - $29
Buy It All - $85
Paypal accepted. Please PM me or post SOLD and I will send you payment details.
Regards,
Imad

I paid money for all these things, and this is what I got.
The MySpace script is Freeware available here:
http://www.freeturnkey.net/scripts.html
The SMS Script was warez, saying it was hacked by a certain Warez group.
Game Cheat Database SQL's I never received.
All the Game files were corrupt, which I also found him trying to sell on another forum, and they were corrupt there too.
I doubt he has rights to the other script he sent me.
---------------------------------------------
So basically this is $85 down the drain. He ignores my PM's and continues to post here at WHT, even in the advertising forum.
I got ahold of him once, and he said "I'm going to leave it up to paypal." He knows what he did, so he is blatantly stealing my money.
I don't know if I will get my money back, just be forwarned not to buy any software off him.

Submit this to the WHT helpdesk immediately, they will help you out with getting him to stop posting here.

What did you expect for these prices? Shame on you for not running a few Google searches. I'd say it's fortunate that you only sent him $85, and I'd suggest you file a PayPal dispute request as soon as you can. If he's as unresponsive as you’ve indicated—and subsequently does not contest the dispute—you have a chance of getting your money back.
With that said, use your noise and smell the fish next time you look at these types of purchases. I loathe cliché, but if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Thanks for the support.

These are intangible items. Even if he does not contest your dispute, your efforts with PayPal will be fruitless.
Clever of him to hide behind PayPal.

Instead of addressing the non-delivery issue with Paypal you might focus on the pirated illegal software aspect they may not get your money but his account will get frozen.

I chose the option for fake software and software not delivered as described.
I realize I probably wont get my money back, as who sells stuff like this unless they REALLY NEED MONEY. He probably doesn't have the money in his account.

Good luck on this. At worst, you're out $85, but as I've noted above, you have learned a lesson. :-)

Looks like I wasn't the only person cheated out of money at around that time. I'll be posting my beward of ____someone_else____ thread in a few days if it doesn't get resolved with the seller as well. Good luck on this one (at least you got something for your $85; I've gotten nothing for my $100 thus far).

He knew this would happen, that's why he said he was going to leave it up to paypal.
CNV if you read this, I hope you know you blatantly stole my money.

No, was with another user (who is now suspended and fallen off the face of earth for all contacts that I'm aware of).
