Video card

I am looking to buy a video card and I am wondering if the XFX Geforce 7900 GT Extreme is a good buy. Here is a link from NCIX.com if that might help, it has all the cards specs. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...anufacture=XFX

TBH, unless it's badly needed, I'd hold off until the time Vista comes out as that will be when the DX 10 graphics cards come out along with the new fancy games.

But otherwise ATi rules!

I'm never buying ATI again. They are nice cards to start off with but they have troubles as you use them.

A Radeon X850XT breaking one week after warranty is not what you really want.

Well, in my experience of 3 years of using ATi I haven't had any problems.

I have had many problems with ATI and I am strongly supporting nvidia. At the moment I don't have a GPU in my computer since I gave my horrible running ATI to my brother since it looks like it is about to blow. Thanks everyone for your input I hope someone can help that knows a lot of the nvidia's 7900GT.

I love NVIDIA. I have the 7900GTX by eVGA. Get an eVGA if you can.. their step up program is phenominal.

I've always found that nvidia gives you the best bang for buck. I have an old t-41 in my computer, yet I can still play UT 2004 and Source at decent rates... enough to get me into CAL and do decently as well.

ATI has always been more costly and weaker from previous exp. And yes, they tend to break just right after you get them (thank god for warranty).

Personally, as one suggested, wait for the newer line and get something a bit cheaper. 7400, or something like that, perhaps?

I am a little hesitant to get an EVGA since I really don't know much about the company and I want to get a good card not one I will need to replace in the future. Is EVGA a good brand?
