What should I expect out of a company that manages my servers? I am in the market to find someone that can keep an eye on things for me and I dont know where to start. What services should i expect out of them and how much should they charge?

You've asked a very broad question, to which I could write you a 100 page report, but let's skip that and get more to the point .

- What is it you're hosting?
- What do you need managing? (basic kernel upgrades or more? run any custom applications or is it just basic web hosting?)
-How much have you got to spend? (of course how much it really costs will depend on what you need managing, and what spec equipment is required).

I have a few websites that i need up and running and I also have a few people who I host for. Mostly streaming medea sites though. Ha and what is a kernal upgrade and how can it help me? (i have a lot to learn!)
