Help with motherboard and sound..

OK, long story short, I took the motherboard out of my broken case and put it in a new case. The board is from a compaq presario S4110CL and is an ASUS A7N8X-LA. I changed cases, and now suddenly my sound doesn't work. I haven't hooked up all of the wires yet (because I don't know where they all go) but would this cause the sound not to work? All of the wires go to the front panel so I wouldn't expect that they'd make a difference on the sound from the rear.

Any advice is mucho appreciated.
Kevin

I didn't change motherboards..I changed cases. I've been using this same board for 4 years without a problem. I don't know much about hardware, though, so I don't know what would be causing this.
