Due to a bookkeeping mishap, we didn't notice that after freeing ourselves from PureHell and moving to another host, PureHost has continued to charge for their services. They say there is no record of account cancellation. Do you guys think it's a totally lost cause or should we fight them for a refund? They were such a disaster when it comes to hosting, I can't imagine that they will politely return the money and apologize - but I wanted to get your opinion.
Thanks in advance!

When you cancelled did you get a ticket number or similar? Can you show the date you left? Also how much are we talking about as it might just be better to write it off and not bother

Thanks for getting back. No, unfortunately I didn't get a call record number or anything. We're talking about $280...

Since you didnt get a ticket number there is really much you can do, I would just suggest you take the loss and make sure they cant bill you anymore, sometimes its just not worth the hassle

It never hurts to ask for a refund.. The worst they could say is no. If you don't ask, I can almost guarantee their not going to proactively offer it to you.
I wouldn't go as far as fighting for it though.

Well, they refunded me for one third and stopped additional charges. Thanks for your advice!

Not too bad of a deal. Without any paper trail, there probably wasn't too much more they could do. Glad you got out of the situation, too bad it ended up costing quite a bit.
