trademark violation?
hello
before asking... I do really not want to steal someones ideas or something else... but I'd like to open a unofficial fanclub of a well known electronics brand... and offer online tutorials, howtos, forums and so on.
I was thinking about the name of the new project.. and I got an idea.... the project name but named backwards...
for example:
original site: webhostingtalk.com
my new site: klatgintsohbew.com
the name of the domain in question is much shorter, even nice looking... what do you think? could this be somehow a violation to their brand/trademark?
thanks a lot for your "legal" help

IANAL... but, I'm fairly sure you'll be safe as long as your not profiting from it.
As long as your not making money exploiting their name/symbol/likeness/slogan you should be OK... but, again this all depends on what country your in.... I can only speak of the US.
Then again... ICANN can sometimes be really mean about domain names and who they belong to. Legally you might be safe but, ICANN can be very brutal about domain disputes.
