Nice European host

Hi, I'm after another nice dedicated box in Europe somewhere. maybe nl/germany/france etc.

My budget is around $80 US per month. Anyone you would reccomend?
I am after a decently specced machine for lots of mysql stuff.

Thanks.

I'm very happy with Hetzner.de in Germany. Their Root Server DS 5000 for 59 EUR/month gives you an AMD 64 3700+, 2 GB RAM, 2x160 GB SATA, 6 IP addresses and 2 TB per month. Support is very good.

We are watching the european offers since we are offering the same thing in eastern europe and we noticed that lately ,a lot of german companies are more and more atracted to make a pretty agressive overselling.
Just imho.
Check twice what you pay for, bandwidth cost is still higher in Europe, and everything that sounds cheaper than US will be risky

I emailed Hetzner.de in Germany and get:
( I ask about irc and reseller and ddos)

IRC is allowed but not on the PORT 6667
Port 6667 is closed for IN and OUT Traffic.

Run a DDOS Attack to your server we disconect the server for 24 h.
If you have more then 5 DDOS Attacks in one Month we cancel the contract.

On a root server you can install what you whish. You have full root access.

does that only apply to IRC, if not thats crazy most servers get a DDOS of some kind every month, can you imagine how mjuch downtime that would cause. kdiss.nl heard they are good,

What about the software that you install on your server? Is there any software could avoid you DDOS attack?

I would advise you to do some research on LW before committing with them.

Leaseweb has stable network and very good speeds/connections with Europe and USA. The only problem you may have is slow support if you don't have a SLA with them.

www.goscomb.co.uk is in london. Contact him personally, and tell him if he has any £40 or less servers.
