Need a Small Dedicated server - Suggestions

I am in need of a small dedicated server. I have currently have less than 50 total hosting accounts accounts spread across several Reseller accounts and 1 VPS, (That I plan on getting rid of VERY soon). The VPS cannot handle my accounts because, most of my accounts use their website for email and the VPS overloads when processing the email. I currently have an Enterprise VPS at DEHE. I have taken it down to one account on that VPS because it doesn't use email for that domain (yes, I'm losing money every day on that account).

The Reseller accounts that I have are either being listed at SPamCop (Hosteasier and HostForWeb) on a weekly basis, or are so overloaded that the server keeps going down (Site5).

So I am investigating a dedicated server so I will have my own mail server, that wont get blacklisted, So I won't have performance problems from outside sources, etc.

All of my accounts are VERY BASIC html, a few use a php apps that is used maybe 2 or 3 times per day, I use a basic CGI (perl) script to do page loads (much like an SSI INCLUDE on all my websites. I maintain all of my websites myself. My biggest useage comes from email.

I am familier with using WHM and Cpanel in a VPS and reseller environment, but I DO NOT feel confident enough to manage a dedicated server top to bottom. So I need something that is "managed". Basically I need everything that a VPS would provide with WHM/CPanel but in a dedicated platform.

I am open to suggestions/referrals/proposals/quotes, etc.

I would suggest looking at the Offers Forum here. What's your budget for this?

Yes, how much is your budget? I suggest get the server that your money can afford with at least 1GB of RAM....

Regards,
Charles

Budget is not my primary concern right now. I'm more interested in who provides REAL managed services and who advertises that they do but don't deliver.

Also, what's the best OS to use with WHM/Cpanel?

CentOS and FC is a good choice for Cpanel/WHM.

Good luck in your search!

Charles

Liquidweb.com does a fairly good job of management. One of the common solutions is to get a server from SoftLayer or LayeredTech and then grab a 3rd party company to manage it (PlatinumServerManagement, Acunett, etc).

CentOS works well with CentOS and its a great place for a beginner to play with if they are interested.
