Hello
I registered only minutes ago but I'm not shy so I'll introduce myself. I'm Duke, I'm a webmaster for a small community of websites I'm currently in the process of moving my sites to a new webhost, one that I've seen mentioned here, not too favorably lately I might add, but I'll post in the appropriate topic.
BTW, am I retarded or should I get my eyes checked because I had a b1tch of a time registering due to mis-typing the visual confirmation code
Lastly, any gamers here?
C'ya around.

Wow, warm reception, I like it here already folks.
You can tell a lot about a community from the responses to your first thread, especially if it's cordial in nature. I'm afraid though your all stuck with me and some of my outlandish n00b heavy questions.
I'm an avid gamer because BF 1942 sucked me in so deeply that I played literally thousands of hours and adminned servers both locally and overseas. I also love playing:
- IL 2 Forgotten Battles, AEP, BOE, Pacific Fighters,
- HL 2,
- Doom 3, ROE,
- Nascar SIM Racing,
- rFactor,
- Quake 4,
- AOE III,
- and of course the Battlefield series with BF2 being my least favorite.
I do have some ideas on shared server programs if anyone’s interested but I'm not here to peddle my ideas so I'll leave it at that and interested folks can either respond here or via PM. Essentially, it's communities getting together to split the costs on gaming servers so we can all draw from the increased traffic at more affordable rates.
BTW, I hope I'm not breaking any rules with the above, if so, please edit and accept my sincerest apologies.

Welcome to the forums.
I like to play COD2 and Soldier of Fortune 2 (oldie but a goodie). Too bad there aren't enough hours in the day to play a game and work. Damn work!
Enjoy your stay.

I haven't really had a chance to try CoD 2 because it brings my rig to it's knees. Sad to say that a game can take a 2.8 P4 with a 533 FSB and over 1 GB of RDRAM down on medium high settings.
Loox like it's time for a new PC.

BTW, finally broke down and purchased CoD 2, just dummied down my settings a bit to make it run decent.
I honestly think that they made giant leaps forward in this game as it puts the original CoD to shame. The only complaints I have is a headshot doesn't seem to kill the enemy and they sure take a lot of rounds to finally go down and stay down.
Aside from these quirks, the game is really well done. The action is super intense and the environments are far less linear than the first CoD.
