    Win2003 webserver

    Hello,

We are trying to build a webserver using Win2003 with the following configuration:

    1. Webspace/FTP, with quota and traffic limitations
    2. Mail, with quota and traffic limitations
    3. PHP/MySQL

As you can see, nothing fancy, just basic webserver stuff. However there are a lot of possibilities and solutions to create such a webserver.
Of course I'm most interested in a solution using standard win2003 functionality, however not all functionality mentioned seem te be possible.
    For example:

    1. Is it possible to specify quota for an account other than diskquota?
    2. Is it possible to determine the traffic for HTTP/FTP/POP3/etc. traffic for an account?

On the internet there is a lot of free stuff available, however money is not really a problem. We simply want stability and realiability, whether we have to pay for the products or not.

Can anyone be of any assistance for our "problem"? What kind of configurations do you have?

Thanks in advance for any answer!

Helm will do what you want.

You can only limit diskspace using Windows quotas, and bandwidth can only be limited in terms of X kbps, not a limit in gigabytes.

HELM can setup resources and alerting but doesnt actually stop a service such as webspace or bandwith of overusage - just simply alerts the end user and the reseller account it is under.

Not really sure why RazorBlue seems to think that a limit cant be set in gigabytes just kilobytes is any different, as far as I am aware they can be the same thing.....

HELM will do diskspace limits in terms of resources, and monitoring but best thing to do would then setup up FTP quota's to the directories as this is the most effective method of limiting diskspace over usage.

Mail limitations is down to the application you use for mail, not so much the control panel - for example Merak mail server will happily setup limits per account for size of emails, number sent etc and is quite good at it.

HELM is your best option, then add a bit of merak or smartermail and then a decent FTP setup such as Gene6

I said kbps (ie kilobits/sec) not kilobytes.
