New Bike - Anyone else in the southern GTA area ride?

Well guys,

I've always wondered how many other WHT members ride (specifically, sportbikes). I just picked up a new bike (to replace my Ninja 500R, which I'd been wanting to do for some time) a few weeks ago, and I've found that most of my friends who ride aren't around this summer (which sucks), and the ones who are, cant seem to keep pace anymore.

Anyhow, for anyone whose curious, this is my new ride:

And yes, before anyone asks, I've pulled the greek flags off (considering I'm english, previous owner was greek) .

So who else here in the GTA region rides? And what do you ride?

Pedal bikes rule! I challenge you to a race porcupine, around the block.

You're on! , 0-60 in 2.9 secs with a professional rider, a little slower with me on the bars, but I do manage to get the front wheel off the ground occasionally

wow 14k redline + digital speedo. That must feel nice.

Although I would never get a bike it's too dangerous, plus I'm not really a fan. Very nice though.

Watch how fast you're going when you run red lights on whatever bike you're riding.

Myles,

I still don't... yet
Soon! Hopefully I can have everything handled before summer slips away once again.

I picked up my m1 (m2? I can't figure out these numbering systems) just recently however I'm waiting until I have the next level up prior to seeking some hardware as insurance would cost a small fortune as a young m1 (m2? ugh! :p) rider.

Note: There are some decent communities for riders here in the GTA, mainly www.gtamotorcycle.com/forum/

I'm scared of rideing motor bikes, and no its not because Im a wimp. I don't want to die because I enjoy my life too much right now, I have a friend who seen an accident near where he lives on a bike scanned the newspaper to show me and everything - yikes!

Have you actually scanned around for insurance? Its a lot cheaper then you might think, it should be *much* cheaper then your car insurance if you get a bike reasonable to your skill level. When I first got my M1, I had to insure both my car, and bike, and the bike ran me around $900/year (M1, ~21 years old). Over 50% of your car insurance payments go directly towards fraud according to my State Farm agent. Right now I'm in around $600/year (hit 25 this year), with a faster bike (as you can see), and theft insurance covered.

I know nothing about that story, but anyone who runs red lights in *any* vehicle is a real idiot in my book (no offense intended, just a practical opinion). I may ride fast, but I stop at all stop signs (full foot down), always signal my intent, I would never intentionally run a red, and I follow most/all of the other rules (except the occasional need to pass).

If its your first bike, I wouldn't recommend a CBR600+, they're less forgiving them something like a Ninja 500R, etc. and not really suited towards first time riders. As much as some people will pretend its optional, you really do want to start small, a EX500/500R will still go as fast as most people will ever want to go (> 200kph), but its a lot more forgiving then the larger bikes.
