Is this site for real? $500
http://consumerrewardzone.com/
They are offering $500 for either amazon, buy or overstock spending. I feel so tempt to get that $500 but I am afraid I might be fallig into a trap so I am posting this here.
Is it real? Where do they get the money to give people? What is the catch? What are they hiding?
Do any of you fill out stuff like that?

Most of these stuff are real and you do receive your prizes. But cancelling all the products you ordered to get the prize will be a pain.

They're real, but you have to participate, in other words, sign up for some of their partners, which can be like AOL, Computer Processor Thing, BMG music CDs, maybe buy a cruise trip, rent a car, buy an airplane ticket, etc... Many things like that. And when you sign up in their affiliate link, they get money from that company for referring you to them. Sometimes you have to refer other people to sign up, and do the same and then only then will you get your card. Some sites like these offer Ipods, PCs, monitors, anything really.

What if the products order is not equal to $500? Then how would they make that money? That is a net loss, not a net profit.

indiaberry,
Because they don't buy their prizes at retail, many sponsors donate the prizes or provide them at MASSIVE discounts. The "Free Ipod" doesn't cost them $100 like it costs you and I, it costs them $10 -- because these sponsors are practically GIVING them away in order to receive the referrals.

What do they do with our information/address/e-mail?

indiaberry, these sites make commission off you participating in offers from their sponsors. For example, to get a $250 free card, you have to: sign-up for AOL service, as well as refer 5 of your friends to do the same. Theoretically, they will receive $400 in commissions from AOL, while they only give you $250. They are $150 in profit, often way more since people give up at trying to refer their friends, so you end up getting nothing and they getting everything without sweat.

Artashes is correct. They'll make their profit, don't worry about that. They wouldn't do this if they didn't make money for themselves.

With ConsumerRewardsZone, you'll have to complete 6 offers to get their $250 Visa offer, 2 from each of 3 "levels". First though, they make you click through 3 pages of coregistration offers. The last level of offers is where they trick people. Here are the offers:
RoadLoans - Action required for credit towards your Free gift: Loan must be approved and funded!
E-LOAN Auto/Motorcycle - Action required for credit towards your Free gift: Loan must be approved & Funded
Try Russ Dalbey's "Winning In The Cash Flow Business" System (Makes you pay $97)
So there you have it - Maybe you can get away with spending next to nothing for free trials for the first 4 offers, but to get the promised prize, you need to get at least one loan, and spend $97 if you don't want another loan. CRZ makes their money by very few people completing that last step, but many people filling out their first 4 offers needed.

*smile* So bury yourself in loans and receive another source of loan - a CC with $250 on it! Wow, what a deal! Where do I sign?

they make money on the 90% of people who start and never finish. They are also buying at wholesale and often require you to refer friends which makes it a big pyramid of referals and eventaully the owner walks with all of the referall revenue and leaves the last group empty handed.

I would do those things if a wasn't afraid of giving out my information and if I had a credit card.
