Legal Question.

Hi,

My hosting company is being taken over by a other company and all clients will be transfered. But I am paying the same price but I am loseing a feature! (Is this legal?)

When I requested the name of the company that is taking over my current company (To check to see if they have good uptime, support etc.) I got told that I cannot know this information because of a none disclosure agreement. Is my current host legally required to provide me with the name of the hosting company that is 'buying them out'?

Thanks,

Tom

Do you pay monthly or annually?

Well it depends on the TOS and whether you actually mind losing a feature. If you have a problem with it, speak to the new owners and see what they can do.

Thats the problem my current host wont tell me who the new owners are going to be and yes I do have a problem with loesing this feature.

Also when I signed up I did not agree to any TOS or see any TOS on the site.

Probably can't give you the name of the new owners because the deal is not yet finalized.

They will only have to tell you once the deal is done.

Is there a link on there site like AUP or TOS?

Also what are you losing if you don’t mind saying?

You're paying monthly and you're worried about legalities? They don't even have to allow you to renew your contract each month, let alone continue to offer a service after being purchased.

Just change hosts if the feature is that important.

God bless the USA

I will agree with that, after re-reading this why did you choose a company without a TOS/AUP policy.

That’s almost like buying a car without a warranty. They would not be reasonable for nothing, as you and them really have no agreement on what they must do and what they can’t do.
