Plese help match my hosting criteria ::::

I've been searching the past 2 days for a reliable, economic web host. Everytime I find one that looks good on polls, I come here and its bashed to death. So I'm asking the pro's which proven plans would fit me best and I thank you all in advance. It will be a personal site, not too much anticipated traffic, dynamic pages and DB usage.

Absolutely Neccesary
Linux
No more than $5/month
Speed, Reliability
500mb + (more the merrier)
PHP + mySQL
3+ Databases (more the merrier)
3+ Subdomains (more the merrier)
IMAP, SMTP

Things that would be a nice bonus
Trial Period/Money back guarantee
Shell/SSH
ASP, Other DB Languages
Email catch all, forwarding
Fantastico
3+ Add on Domains, Aliasing
Scheduled automatic backups
cron jobs
fast upload/download speeds

Everything else either I don't care about... or I can do myself
I'll probably end up choosing the cheapest most reliable plan with good reviews, substantial disk space/databases and the most bonus's
Thanks

Sometimes, if you are looking for specific criteria, you may be better off using a Web hosting directory with a searchable database. Many of these sites offer a advanced search so you can narrow down your search to exactly what you are looking for. I have been running a free Web hosting directory for 6 years, now I have moved on to cheap Web hosting.

I take it you want a Windows sever? Primarily ASP is best used on a Windows server unless you use Chili ASP by Sun Microsystems. Be aware some features only available on a Windows server will be lost. When you say Cron jobs, I asume you are talking about a Linux server. You need to ask yourself...PHP/MySQL/Linux OR ASP/MSSQL/Windows before you get in too deep.

You may find yourself investing time and money on the opposite of what you are actually looking for.

Yeah, you should be able to get that for $5 a month, is the 500MB referring to the bandwidth or the webspace?

You have to search the forums for the hosting company, you may find reviews about them.

If not, make a post about them and see what other hosts think about the company.

WHT posters will be more than happy to help you in finding the perfect host, other people will recommend web hosts, check them all out, test their sales reply speeds and go with whoever you think will be the best host for you.

Everything you have listed sounds reasonable, but I doubt you will find many web hosts with ASP on a linux platform.

Try searching on www.findmyhosting.com or www.hostsearch.com

Make a list of web hosts that meet your requirements and then do some research on them here on WHT.

Best of luck

ASP And Linux don't play nicely

Speedhostingz.com are great, and fit your price range. The support is fantastic, I've never waited more than 5 minutes for an answer on a ticket, and they are willing to help with coding problens

ASP can be installed on Linux but it doesn't give the full functionality it would give on a Windows server. If you really want ASP, it's probably better to go with Windows, even though Linux is better.
