I need a honest guide to making a choice.

I currently have a dedicated managed server under the DEFCON 3 of fastservers, and I have been having problems with my server CPU usage which requires that I upgrade my package, actually been using the package for 2years now. The spec currently is
Celeron 1.7Ghz processor and with the additonal addons and softwares, I pay about 163USD a month which is still within my monthly affordable budget of 200USD.

Well I need to upgrade to
something of P4 2.4Ghz upwards range, but Fastservers is going to charge me way above my budget which is about 200USD, they are charging me 320USD which includes the addons I would require.

My needed spec is actually
P4 2.54Ghz (upwards)
1GB or 2gb RAM
160GB SATA
CentOS 4.x or Redhat Ent
CPanel/WHM/Fantastico
1500GB Bandwidth or anything reasonable.
Managed dedicated server with good reliable and support.

My budget is anything below 200USD as said before , I have seen companies like Servstra and Sectorlink, but I am really scared of been dissapointed, because I am very currently comfortable with fastservers, no regrets at all, their servers are superb plus their services, but the current situation leaves me with no choice but too move on.

I would be greatful if I am given a honest advice in regards on the choice to make, with the budget I have. I am really scared of changing host, because Fastservers have been extremely good.

With your budget, you can definitely find what you are looking for. Some companies offer managed solutions at low rates....good luck

I would have to recommend Gnax here. They offer great machines that are very reasonably priced. They are not "fully" managed, but rather "semi" meaning they will do some things, but won't hold your hand. If you need a full managed server, perhaps you can simply get a system administrator to work with you?

Problem solved.

I really appreciate all your recommendations, but it seems Fastservers do keep track of their customers plea's and I have been given an offer I can't resist. So I am staying with fastservers. Thanks once more, to all those that took their time to recommend a host for me. I really do appreciate it.

In my opinion you should stay with fastservers.net. I think you may even be a bit surprised of the degraded quality of service if you change providers.

However if you feel the need to change, yes I'd prolly check our Gnax, as mentioned, or maybe even defenderhosting. I have a vps with them and i know they do offer dedicated as well. They offer superb support.
