I think it was mentioned in the Admin area that Guides now have powers to move, delete, etc. as well as a post to the moderators about database issues nuking posts.

As someone said excellently in another post, it's a capitalist society.
What's great about capitalism, is if you don't want to pay for something, and you don't like, you don't.

Very bad news. Will definitely quit WHT when this decision will be taken, sorry. I understand you have to make profit from the community, but this is just too much.

They make enough profit by the banners if I understand this thread correctly, web hosting talk is going to start charging people for posts and threads thats crazy, odds are its just an April fools joke.
EDIT: Has to be a joke, no way they would crash all this hard work put into this website. Do you know how much members they would lose if they charged sign ups?Last edited by Frimon86; 04-01-2006 at 07:22 AM.

Yea this looks like a joke.
How would Mikey have found this post unless told to post it by the mods/admins (who have stayed out of this thread for the best part).0

Inet are obviously expecting members to pay for each post hoping more money in their pockets! But thats a stupid idea, i don't see why someone would pay in a general hosting forum, to recieve help etc. I can understand if its for only paying to advertise services/websites for sale as sitepoint does, but to help someone? Come on thats dumb. I wont be suprised if the forum becomes inactive.

If this is not a joke then its a stupid idea. Advertising yes, but not general posting. Why would people post here when they can go to other forums and even get paid to post as oposed to pay to post.
We will just have to wait till the end of today (when April fools finishes) or the 7th when it is official.0

I'd say it should be rather obvious that this is an april fool .
Okay, lets say for 99,9%, leaving 0,1% chance of being true because someone was really stoned and drunk when posting this .... I would not even pay for advertising posts, because I consider them as return or benefit for my support postings (thats why I left Sitepoint) - but paying for regular posts? No, not really.0

I have been a fisherman all my life but this is the most productive fishing expedition I have ever seen. The bait presentations have been right on and all fish were played perfectly.
