FrontPage for Unix EOL... What are you doing?
I haven't seen a thread on this and curious what companies are going to do when FrontPage EOL in June 30th, 2006.
Do you plan on dropping FrontPage support altogther on Unix? Do you plan on replacing it with something else? What do you plan on doing with existing customers?
Thoughts and comments?
No comments on how FrontPage sucks and why would you want to use it.. This is a question to other hosting providers who have customers that use it.

I've been really confused with this news, but if it is what I think it is, I'll be popping the cork on an expensive bottle of champagne.. I can't wait, it's just such a pain in the rear end!
But back to the confusion, the notice that's been put out there, and my unfamiliarity of the frontpage software itself, I'm not sure but are they dropping support for legacy versions of frontpage or are they dropping frontpage completely ( ooooh please god!! ) ?

I can only imagine they are hoping to get more people to move to Windows servers, but I'm thinking it's probably going to get more folks to quit FP.
Won't that be lovely.

Completely dropping frontpage support is the way I'm reading it. Windows only. I guess they feel too much competition from Unix.

This is good.
It'll get rid of all those incompetent self proclaimed web designers who do nothing but hit a few buttons and drag and drop stuff.
Those of us who actually know how to do web design and go by the standards (XHTML, CSS, etc.) will shine.

Yes I think that is what is going to happen to the individuals who don't care or dislike MS already. The ones who love MS will leave to windows hosting if you don't offer it already.

I think that's for the best. I'd rather not have clients who are extremely inexperienced and ignorant to use MS products such as FP.

The ironic (mornic) part of this is the EOL is June 30th 2006 and when is the new version of FrontPage/Office coming out?? It was just delayed and now beginning (I'm reading into it as middle) of 2007.
Sounds like they are sh00ting themselves in the foot twice.
Does anyone plan on offering other applications, like a site builder to replace it?

I dropped Frontpage about 6 months ago from all shared hosting because of issues with it not working nicely with cPanel, nobody even uses it anymore from what I saw ...
If people can't upload sites using FTP/SCP rather than via the "wizard" they really shouldn't be designing sites at all.

That point is to have the FrontPage customers use Windows hosting but based on what we have read MS is eventually going to replace FP with a different product native to Windows only.
I'm sure there will be legacy support for what is already out there.
