Low budget need ded.
I'm looking for less than 100$ a month. Preferably like 70$ a month or less even. I need a dedicated server for my fairly small website, it only uses maybe 150 mb, and bandwith is low usage too. I wanted to set up a CS: Source server on it as well. Any recommended plans? Thanks in advance.

Do you have any knowledge whatsoever of dedicated boxes? You might be better off getting some good hosting for $20, or less, a month and then getting a gameserver for source from a place like DefCon.
For cheap, unmanaged hosting LayeredTech.com is pretty much your only option for that pricing.

I'd have to second layeredtech for affordable, reliable offerings: but for anything remotely mission critical I'd do your best to try raising your budget instead of going for the lowest price in town.

On a box that's less than $70/mo and running a game server may prove difficult as Celeron's are the only type of server you'll be able to get, and a low end one at that. That processor is not powerful enough to smoothly run gaming.

Eh - I'd have to disagree. Most of the server clients for games aren't that cpu intensive - I think he could get away with a celeron 2.4 and 512mb ram

at home i have linux box which i run CS & Call Of Duty 2 servers
and i only got these specs:
Cpu Intel P4 1.6Ghz
768mb Ram
20GB HDD
and a 2mbps down 256k/s Upload connection
I know its not so good but we use it for our clan to play and have fun so i think with a 2.4 celeron and 512ram should work, i recomend to make 1GB Ram to run more smooth.Signature coming Soon!

Well smak do you have permission from ur isp also to run such services?
12+ years -same website , new server [SSD Inside] providing shared/reseller hosting only !
These things we do not provide/offer : Unlimited Storage ! Unlimited Bandwidth ! But Why? Cause, we were unable to put such a large number on our pages, it just would not fit.
So check out the numbers that actually fit >> << the page as well as your budget too !

I would definatley go with LayeredTech.com, I have several machines there and I can't say enough good things about them. I believe they are running a speical in the offers section right now as well.

LT is an excellent option, but it wont help him if he cant manage it, either increase your budget a bit and get something from http://servstra.com (they use LT) and the server is managed, you can get a low end AMD (Sempron 2600) with 512MB ram for $100/month with cpanel. Or get a VPS to a managed VPS to start with, but you'll eventually have to move to something better.

A Celeron would have issues hosting a CS Source server because of the cache...definitely want to go with Pentium or Athlon.
I'd suggest just getting a web hosting package and game server package from another host. A lot of hosts even include web hosting with their game servers....
Lots of problems arise too so if you don't have experience running game servers just rent one.

I wouldn't go with JustEdge for a game server. Overall pings are awful. When it comes to game servers, ping time is more critical than overall bandwidth speed. JE may have fast bandwidth, but pings are lacking, and I'm speaking from experience trying to host a game server on one of their servers.
Furthermore, their total lack of reliable support makes them an awful choice for someone new to dedicated servers.
layeredtech is affordable, takes a while to get a server setup, but they have nice support, again are affordable and nice bandwidth.

Check the dedicated server advertising forum or go to the top right hand corner of this forum and you will see "Host Quote". You should be able to find a good server within your budget no problem

vertexhosting better edit your post now, in the rules it states you do not resell your services to anyone. If you want to sell your services go to the deals and post your offers. Good luck!
