Blocking Chinese IP's

I have a HUGE problem here. I launched a free web hosting site only a couple of hours ago, and I have already had over 150 uniques from china and I have people signing up like flies.

I have rules and instructions for signup up, but these are not being followed. I am sitting here and they are signing up as fast as I can delete them.

Now, I know how to block an IP via htaccess - but I need a list of IP's Or are there any other solutions? Are there any other ways to block China? This is imperative.

Somehow the actual signup form URL is being distributed, and no one is signing up via the appropriate means.

I need to resolve this problem. I have been searching Google for hours and I can't find a solution. I had the same problem last time I did free hosting.

Any help will be appreciated.

I am not sure how you plan to block them but you can use the list linked below which is current as of today.

CIDR Format
http://www.completewhois.com/statist...ts/CN-cidr.txt

Netrange Format
http://www.completewhois.com/statist...N-netrange.txt

If you are using linux feed the 'cidr' blocks into your iptables and block them. If you are using FreeBSD feed them into a 'pf' table and block them. I belive using .htacces for a range this large would not be a good idea.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Great mate. That's a start. I recognise some of those IP ranges, so it looks good. The only problem is, I only know how to block with htaccess. I don't know about this cifr or freeBSD business.

How can I find out what I have and how to block these addresses?
