I don't see any current advertising or promotion of ANz. All information turned up by a Google search about them relates to the fiasco of '04. Yet there they be, with new technicians even. Donna, Rachel, Kevin and Matt -- did we ever figure out if it was Kevin or Matt posting as Donna, or Matt or Kevin posting as Rachel? Look at all that staff! Surely there must be some recent reviews out there somewhere, if they've grown to such a size?

Secondly, LA and Texas servers will be available again starting today. Seattle will be pulled for awhile due to a disagreement with providers there (network getting dodgy and they want to lower bandwidth and up prices even though the network is worse).

Now this ties us into RachelAI (which it's part of). For those who don't know, RachelAI is a "smart" program we started on almost 3 years ago. Got sidetracked for awhile but now parts of the system are ready to go. Here's some of what's involved.

These guys are such a riot! Looks like I missed an ANz thread here the other month.

Just a heads up, starting from 8 AM today till approx 8 PM tonight staff will be reduced. Reason being that most staff will be attending the Molsen Indy here in Toronto.

Nick, Jon and Lisa will be manning the helpdesk and Nick and Jon will be on AIM if you need them.

Hey, Jon's back too, not just Sol! And Tara! Wasn't she Donna's hottie little sister who just happens to look remarkably like Elisha Cuthbert? I thought she only worked when Donna was in Iraq flying those fighter jets... That's quite a bit of staff "in Toronto", including 'Lisa' and 'Cecilia' -- aka Jon and Sol, perhaps?

Massive internal DDoS attack, most of the network gear has been replaced and we're just working on restoring full service to the last dozen servers or so.

Mail a little backed up atm due to our monitor going nuts and generating about 40, 000 emails but we're sorting through those too.

Full service should be restored within an hour

...

We're awaiting an emergency delivery of a switch for the 181 block, all the original switches got fried and two of the backups were bad so we're out of switches to put servers on till the replacements get here.

Hopefully no more than another couple of hours tops. Drew trying to fix the existing one to at least get some service to the 181 block but so far all attempts to connect to the network are failing

Ah, yes. The ubiquitous "DDoS attack" excuse, complete with a story about replacing hardware. Do any of us believe they had "backup switches" on hand? What's an "internal" DDoS attack, btw? That must be the kind that "fries" ethernet switches. 'Drew', eh? Nice androgynous name, there...

At least there aren't any buy one get one free offers.

I see managed.com has itself some nifty SPEWS and Spamhaus listings. What a perfect acquisition for WHP! I believe if you go back in the ANz threads, I advised defrauded customers to take the matter up with Steve Chen of managed.com, figuring the courts wouldn't look too kindly upon aiding and abetting felonious behavior. If he isn't actually Donna...
