Is my box ok?

I've recently have some slowness in sites on my server. So I was just curious to see if my memory/CPU usage was ok. I'm not sure how to read everything. Can someone help me explain how to read this...or if my box is in good shape?

Here is a screenshot:

Thank you.

This screenshot doesn't show anything unusual. It is really difficult to judge the status or security from one single screenshot without shell access and examine the server.

What's the difference between Mem: and Swap: memories?

It seems that the free Mem: is very very low and keeps going down, is that normal?

Mem = physical Memory.
Swap = Um, 'Virtual' memory on the harddrive.

You want a large amount of Mem,
and linux tends to gulp it all up, so not that much is left, but that's not a bad sign - bad sign is when Free Mem is 0 and swap is being used.

Thanks for the reply. It seems that my physical memory is 95% used. I don't think that's a good sign though.

No, the memory used will usually show almost up to the value of the physical memory in there - as mentioned before, linux will use this amount of memory.

You have problems if your Loads are high, if your IOWaits are highly utilised and if the Swap used is increased and getting high - thats when you start to worry.

Your system looks, on the surface to be fine. If you want to get it confirmed have a sysadmin look over it for you.
