I was first looking at re-seller and realized VPS's might be a good idea for me. I have SOME *nix knowledge but is is limited. I later found a unmanaged VPS for very cheap and from what ive read there uptime is very good. I enjoy the fact that if somthing goes wrong I can fix it, and upgrade patches when they are needed.

Only thing that concerns me is the other scripting langauges like Perl and Python... Does the come with Cpanel?

If I were to go with these guys what would be a good plan to start with so I can atleast cover the costs of running it per month.

Josh

Perl and Python are two completely unrelated things and can always be downloaded and installed separately (like PHP or any other third party software).

I would recommend between the 160 and 256 for running with cPanel + forum. From there you can decide if it's powerful enough and if not choose an upgrade path.
