there's also a 15% charge of course by rentacoder...
I think I see where this is going...to coders in nations where the annual income is less than $5000
To these people, it's good money
I could probably stand on a corner and panhandle more $ than this project offers...and in far less time
they should change it to www.rent-a-peanut.com

I also think I'm probably the only one to have joined and quit within 45 minutes of realizing this...
I believe it's called 'outsourcing'

This is why we do business solutions. I don't think we've given out a quote recently under $3k. I don't know why others would even do this to themselves unless they don't know their value or how to work a global economy.

Besides, if you're a bottom feeder, you end up sucking up a lot of dirt.

This is insane. I don't think even third-world companies would take on a project like this. Even for easy call center work in Pakistan, we pay $8/hr. That's what a lot of Americans make and live off of. To think that a third-world designer/coder would spend 10, 20, or 30 hours on this for $100 is crazy -- but maybe someone will take it on.

yep...they'll take on a 30 hour job for $65...minus 15% of course...because it's good money in other economies.

I'm sure that was a typo. They forgot the 3 zeros to the right.

Not only do they go cheap but many of the bidders comments on freelance forums I think that many coders have no idea at all of what they are bidding on. The buyer gets what he deserves.

You guys/gals are missing the game... I use elance. What happens is you post, and then during the course of the project the person doing the work asks for more money since your description is so vague.

Yes, I was an idiot... I learned the hard way that yes, people will take the project, but later say that quote was for 5 pages... a complete website.

Nine times out of 10, you find out the person does excellent work and you want him/her to continue so you pay.... but it is always less than American prices. Plus, those guys/gals normally have two or three projects going... or they take it at a lower cost to get positive feedback....
