Where - USA, UK or elsewhere?

Tier1 or Tier2 with good peering and Tier1 transit mix?

Going 'typical' rate in major carrier neutral data centers in the US for 200 meg commit on a GigE :

AT&T $40 +/- /meg

BTN / PCCW $22/meg

DT / T-Systems $30/meg

Cogent $10/meg

L3 $28/meg

Qwest $33/meg

Savvis $25/meg

Caveats: depends on your credit rating, how long you have been in business, type of traffic (strong content vs 'eyeball' traffic), credit rating, spam / abuse complaints, credit rating.

'typical' rate -- some folk will get it a little cheaper, some will pay a lot more.

From my experience, I would upgrade Dennis' Savvis pricing by a few dollars and downgrade BtN by about $3 - 4.

There is as much incoming traffic as there is outgoing traffic on the net. Every outgoing is somebody's incoming. Incoming is just less common in the hosting/content delivery world.

All these rates seem to be in the ballpark.

There are better rates available, but your prob not going to see them posted on public forums. Its an NDA world for commits 200 and up.

Those are dead on, you are going to have to work the reps a little to get them though.

Contact mike@wbsconnect.com - he can offer some pretty aggressive pricing for a lot of providers. Tell him 'Justin R' sent you so he stops hating me.
