I've got 5 or 6 invites I think. PM me if you would like one, but I wouldn't get too excited, technically speaking - the messenger is not particularly groundbreaking or innovative.

if you need a list on all the new features just do a google search.

I've just received the newer version of Windows Live Messenger today.

8.0.0566

Even better look. And the interface is slightly more 'defined' is the only way I can think of describing it.

Also they've added MSN Video to the bottom which is neat.

Also that highlighting over names is removed. Not sure if its in the options though, havent checked, but I liked that feature.

Yeah but where is that option to change the color theme? I don't see it in the new version.

Personally, I don't mind MSN Messenger, except for their horrible smileys. Yahoo has the best smilies imnsho.

That shared folders feature is awesome. Still has a few bugs (not sure if they are msn messenger bugs or IE 7 bugs). I can't view the history from the link in messenger, something about xsl stylesheet can't be found. Its there, and when you open the xml file in firefox, it displays properly.

Apparently, its a known issue with IE -- it trips up on the space in the folder name where MSN stores the history files.

I find the latest version a little more unstable... it crashes a lot, especially when I receive files.

Not sure haven't tried sending files yet. But I know that with the previous version I had trouble sending files sometimes, but not receiving.

Never had it crash on me though.

LOVE the new layout compared to the previous version. That drove me crazy...much more back to normal now.
