DirectI / ResellerClub - They don't care!

I'd like to comment on some recent DirectI/ResellerClub experience I've had.

In short.. They don't care!

Let me explain ..

I have a reseller account under a DirectI reseller. I receive lower pricing then the standard pricing offered on their website because of this.

Recently, my 'parent' disappeared! Because of the way DirectI works, I now have NO way to deposit funds into my DirectI/ResellerClub account, which means I can no longer register/renew domains!

I just contacted DirectI about the matter, and they informed me that basically 'oh-well'. They said there is nothing they can do. He tried to force me to signup directly under them and pay a $1000+ deposit. He gave me the usual run-down as to why I need to signup directly under them.

Luckily I have few domains registered under them. However, I can only imagine the catastrophe this could have caused if it happened later down the road.

He continued to tell me it wasn't his fault my 'parent' screwed me, and why should DirectI be responsible.

I'm going to continue to attempt to contact someone 'higher up' at DirectI and hopefully get this situation resolved. Perhaps this thread will help entice them to assist me.

Well, I also had an old account and I've a very good experience with them so far!

Support is not that quick but it taks maximum 24 hours to get in touch with any reps.

Good luck!

I had registered a domain name through that company about a year ago. To this day i am still trying to get ahold of them to transfer it away. I have sent them 5 different suppport tickets and the response I always get is that I sent it to the wrong support department. I think that they are not a good company to do business with.

You don't know how to transfer the domain? Why are you writing support for the matters like this? Just initiate the transfer from the gaining registrar's control panel or whatever they provide!

I have done that. Each time I do it as well, they deny it because they have locked it and have made in untransferrable. I know what I am doing. Thank You.

Sign up under a better reseller. Then push your names to it.

You can unlock it from your control panel.

I would suggest using an actual registrar, pay a little more per domain and avoid this problem in the future.

List of Registrars available at:

This is on behalf of ResellerClub.

In the event of your "Parent" Reseller winding up his business, ResellerClub gives you the option of signing up directly under us. In order to do so, you DO NOT HAVE to pay anything in excess of US$ $1000. The minimum amount that you need to pay is US$ 199 only. If you want an additional pricing advantage, you would need to deposit a pre-payment which is applicable for the pricing slab that you wish to avail of. This would apply to all new Resellers that wish to sign up with us.

As per policy, we provide support only to our direct Resellers under us. In spite of this, our Team provided you with the best possible assistance and gave you various details that you asked for too. In fact, you are still free to contact us if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you for your feedback.

Ahem... NOW I see.

What about unlocking this poor guy's domain and letting him go?

I take that as a positive response, Team ResellerClub. I hope we see more of you in these forums in the future.

Sounds like the kind of response I would expect. Did you think that they would continue selling at the resellers price, because then you would be expecting too much.
