I'm trying to get a list of all Universities and Colleges around the world, is there anyway I can query a DNS server to get a list of, say, all *.edu.ar domain names?

You could use Google's advanced search feature and specify the domain extensions you want to search for. Your example returns the following ...

http://www.google.ca/search?as_q=&nu...s=&safe=images

you can use http://searchdns.netcraft.com/?host which gives the first 500 results only

google trick is good except it shows multiple pages from the same domain if archived at google
