If Oprah ran for President of the United States, do you think she would win?

Possibly, but only if she managed to get younger americans to go out and actually vote. The seasoned citizens (aka "ben gay brigade") which is a huge and powerful voting block tends to stick with proven corrupt politicans approved by the AARP.

Yeah, it's sad that we don't want high character, high integrity people to lead us. Instead we opted for a tough looking but not so smart cowboy (Bush) or a proven flipper (Kerry) to vote.

None, really. But why would that stop the majority of the sheeple from voting for her? When some actor gets on a talk show and starts rambling politics and policy the sheeple believe what they say is gospel, even though the only credentials they have is being a complete #$%$&# and throwing fits if someone actually expects them to pay for something or accidently leaves a red M&M in the bowl in their dressing room.

As disillusioned as I am with some facets of the US, I do hold hope that there are a vast majority of the populous that believe there is a 'right person for the right job' - even if the popular vote is sometimes ignored.
TV stars as govenors? Fine. We've seen how that turns out, but a TV(movie) star as President? It could never happen.

You, obviously, never heard of Ronald Reagan

Either that, or missed the sarcasm in your post.

You mean the bit in my post where is says:
"# engage your sarcasm detector now citizen."
Kinda thought that was pretty obvious I guess you need to get that button checked.

I like Oprah, but I don't really trust her. She's not married yet, and she hasn't raised any children of her own. There's something about that that I just don't trust. That's just me though, and one of my idiosyncrasies.
But would I vote her for President of the USA, nope, but after GWB, anything would be a massive step up!
