What you're wanting to do is mirroring. I'm not sure if it's the same for Windows.
You'll need to do it via a secure SSH connection and rsync. Where 'D' stands for directory.

Command:

Quote:
rsync -a -e ssh D1 username@server2.example.com
The -a implies all the options, such as mirror timestamps, permissions contents, etc and the -e indicates that you want this mirror transferred by a specific method i.e. ssh. The username is the one on the other server to gain access. Block connections to the ports you designate and allow to each other only. And of course, monitor that carefully.

I think what your after is Windows Network Load Balancing. Do a google search for help on setting that up.

I have one windows dedicated box and another shared account. I run Syncback by www.2brightsparks.com on the dedicated box and have it sync over to the shared account a few times a day.

I then use a failover service like the one at www.dnsmadeeasy.com to failover to the shared account if the main account fails. If you use short TTL times on the dns entry you will not miss more than 30 seconds of traffic.

You can use WSftp to do the sync if you only have ftp access on both boxes.

It's the poor mans redundancy setup :-)

What does the 1 after the D do?
---------
For the Linux case, what is the command if I need to mirror 2 servers. Let's say each server has 10 domains. The same 10 are on each server.

1st server:
Domain 1,2,3,4,5 are primary domains that people visit, and 6,7,8,9,10 are backup.

2nd server:
Domain 6,7,8,9,10 are primary, and 1,2,3,4,5 are backup.

So each server is used as both primary and backup purpose. What is step by step command to implement?

Where is this setting in WSftp (Pro) to sync?
Are you using "SyncBack Freeware V3.2.10" found on this page: http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html
