Problems Downloading audio and video files from windows 2000 server.

I have my own dedicated server. I run a radio station.

And I just started it. Was trying to do a backup of all files. including audio clips.

I am using a download manager ans scheduling it to download files.

when i was downloading files i found out that. The files download the exact file size but. It seem the parts dont download from the start.
Each part download the files from it starting point. So once downloaded the media plays but after a few mins or sec of play it restarts from start.

So what i make out of it is when it download from the server. The file should be download thru various parts that start from splitting the fill at various points. But it seems all parts start from the start. and when join after download in the download manager. its the same 30 of play joining together.

basically the downloaded file loops after a certain time.

This is not just with this file it happend to all media files too. And also all my download zip and rar are corrupt stating "unexpected end of archive."

I have tried download other stuff and media from my friends server from other sites they seem to play very well.

S i make up some thing needs to be set in my server to support download managers!

Try this file. using download manager. after a few second it will loop.
for exaple u download using 4 split parts it loops 3 times at regular intervals.

download using 8 split parts loops 7 times at regular intervals.

One thing to check:

Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Services Manager

Click on the second icon from the top in the left hand pane (the one representing your server) and click "Properties" -> Edit the WWW-service

Click the "Service"-tab and check that compression is entirely disabled since this is known to create a world of hurt when users are accessing your content through Internet Explorer. Whether this problem may show itself when using download managers is another question - but just in case.
