Problems with allmanaged.com's procedure
Is normal that procedure of allmanaged.com/sagonet in the following case?:
I couldn't use MySQL with Perl, I notified them and they installed the necessary module. In that moment the mysql server stopped working, I couldn't even access to phpmyadmin and of course i notified them:
That was the response: "Please provide us with the server login information so that we can help you with the matter. Thank you."
I give to them a non master account which I believe it gives access to mysql but them replied me "We donot have access to the server. Please look into it. Thank you."
I give to them my master account user and password and they replied me with that "Do you have the IP address for this server?". It's a virtual hosting with shared IP. I supose that the IP is the same that when you resolve the DNS of the domain. They never give me any IP.
I still didn't have a reply and this problem started more than 5 hours ago. The website is completly down cause it needs access to mysql server to work.

hello,
you should definitely provide the webhost with all the necessary passwords. Sometimes they do not have access to your password protected files/programs/scripts on your account. They may be able to obtain it after a long procedure of investigating and digging it up.
I think it would be best if you give them full access to your master account.

The conversation continues slowly, their reply: "Hello, Is your website still not working properly with mySQL? I show that the server your website is on did not have the DBD mySQL installed. We installed it this morning."
My reply: "MySQL is still not working. This morning I suppose that you installed the perl module DBD::MySQL that I asked for yesterday. But the mysql server worked before that. It was after that when the MySQL server stopped working. You can see, that it is not working, for example here: http://www.*******.com/foros/login.php I can't access to phpmyadmin either as I said in others e-mails"
Their last reply at the moment: "Hello, Please provide us the root password for the iworz shared server. the one with us is not working any more.
Thank you"
---
Is that normal?

Last message: "Hello, I am assigning this to the admin of the server your website is hosted on, and also moving this to the escalations queue."
Nine hours to understand the problem while the website is down more and more time.

EnAlgures,
I'd suggest asking them if p5-DBI is also installed (it should be as I believe it's a dependency of DBD unless that is the other way around, forgetting which way that is myself). In any case if it's still not working that could be the case.
Just a note on what might be doing it, hopefully if you mention that it might get one of their techs to perk up on this. I'm guessing they could be short staffed or just have a big higher workload than usual.

No reply in the last 13 hours, website down (it needs mysql server) since 21-22 hours...
I'm disappointed with allmanaged.com. I'm thinking to move to LiquidWeb.

This isn't your personal blog... although it stinks that your down, maybe it's time to find yourself another host.
Also, keep in mind, it is Christmas today and it's likely that any response you receive is going to be delayed.

I paid for a 24/7/365 support, if it's 364 days support they should say it.
I did what you say, I will move to LiquidWeb. But by one hand I need my databases and the mysql server is inaccessible since 2 days ago and by the other hand LiquidWeb needs several days to activate the account. For those reasons I need these days the service which I paid.
Can anyone explain me why have been moved this thread to the dedicated server? I'm talking about virtual hosting.
Merry christmas

I'm confused. Why are they asking YOU for the ROOT password of that server if its a shared server?

I don't know. Due to my experiencie with them I believe they are always assuming that all their clients have dedicated servers and unique IP. But there is no sense in this frase: ""Hello, Please provide us the root password for the iworz shared server. the one with us is not working any more."
