playing with a parachute in gym class
How many of you guys got to play with a big parachute in gym class as a child?
I miss those days.

Yep we did.
We'd all wave it around and then all go underneath it at once trapping all the air in forming a big dome. It was magical.

Yeah, back in elementary school. I still remember holding it up then running under it and sitting on the edges, then worrying about whether or not you'd be trapped under there forever.
Then the other parachute where you flung a huge yellow ball in the middle of it, or everyone trapped a handful of kids under it.

I did that in gym class and my son does that at summer camp. All of the kids there love the parachute!

Wow, I never thought I would see a thread on this topic.
It was just a month ago, while going through some of the stuff left in my moms house, I found the newspaper clipping (pic and article) of my sister and her PE class. I did not re-read it now as an adult but if I recall it was brand new and this was in 1969 or 1970.
omg, I just saw the square dancing bit. Bad memories, picture laying on the gym floor as a 7yo while the teacher (a female Don Vito) spins in her skirt.
Back to therapy.
