FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do your plans support IMAP for email?

A: Yes, we do, IMAP/POP3 are both supported incoming protocols for email. SMTP can be set to both your own ISP's address or ours (depending if your ISP blocked other SMTP senders are not). Please see http://support.polurnet.com/kb for more related questions.

2) How quickly are accounts activated?

A: As a general rule of thumb, shared hosting accounts are setup within 1-12 hours while reseller accounts are setup 12-24 hours. However, this time may vary, since placing an order during normal business hours would ensure a more quickly activated order, while at night we only have support techs available and our customer service departments are closed.


3) How do you treat spam?

A: We have a very strict anti-spam policy. Our server staff actively monitors our servers' mail queue to ensure no spam messages are being sent from our servers, and preventing incoming spam email as well. We have a strict policy against non-opt-in mail lists and bulk email sending. If you plan to use the servers for unauthorized/unsolicited email sending, this is a direct violation of our TOS, AUP and NSP, with consequences.

We always warn users with frequent spam traces, to tell them they have to change the way the domain is being used or risk suspension. If they agree to cooperate and take our tips for spam prevention, then this ensures our clients are safe and secure from unwanted email. If not, we take action against these type of accounts

4) Can I have a trial of your services? What are your server specs, uptime reports, etc?

A: Feel free to join our official forums at http://forums.polurnet.com. Once you register, you will get access to Network Status forums, where you can see a list of our servers, their associated uptime data and server specifications. New orders are generally placed on a new server that's not listed there or the last server listed. Specifications include Dual Xeon 3.0Ghz processors, 2GB of RAM, RAID diskspace, and daily backups.

5) How big of a company are you, can my sites be trusted with you?

A: We've been in the hosting business since 2003 directly under our parent company, CIAN Technologies Worldwide. PolurNET Communications, a division of CIAN Tech, was founded in 2004, to meet the additional needs of our clients. We began to have a boost in customers since early 2005, when our new, revamped website was introduced, and reseller plans were created.

Since then, we have attracted several hundreds of customers, in both shared and reseller hosting services; total domains hosted exceed 1500.

We have a strong reputation with a flawless track record of serving our customers and always exceeding their expectations.
