BEWARE Global2000Hosting.com
I'm not pretending to be an expert - but I did some research before signing up and spoke with someone at the company regarding uptime and technical support BEFORE committing to a hosting company.
Unfortunately, the information I was given was completely inaccurate. System uptime is dreadful - in the two months I've been with Global2000Hosting.com - I've noticed my web site/email down more than 8 times. For a casual user, it gives me pause to wonder how many times I didn't catch it.
When I contacted their technical support department to determine if there were ongoing issues that were going to cause continued down time, I was hung up on. Nice, eh?
Needless to say, I'll be moving my web site/email TODAY to another company and appreciate the info I've found in this forum in determining a better company.
My advice - stay FAR FAR away from Global2000Hosting.com

Down 8 times for a total of how many hours? Did you try calling them back when they hung up on you?

knikkij, sorry to hear about your experience and good luck finding a better replacement.
For verification purposes, can you share a domain that you host with Global2000Hosting.com?

I moved my website about an hour ago to a new provider with fingers crossed - here's the response I got when I contacted tech support to ask why the web site was down again:
nikki: my website has been down - your website has been down - cameronhunt.com has been down. wondering what issues are going on today - this is the fifth
You are now speaking with Global2000Hosting of Sales.
Global2000Hosting: Nikki, there are no issues with your account your website is working fine
Global2000Hosting: this was just verified by the tech who you spoke with on the telephone
nikki: it's working fine NOW - but it has been down for about 10 minutes, as has yours, as has cameron's
Global2000Hosting: Miss
Global2000Hosting: I just conversed about this account with management
Global2000Hosting: and its terminated as of now
Global2000Hosting: have a nice day
Your party has left this session.
That was it - account closed, no files, no emails, nothing. But the STRANGEST part about the whole thing (as if this isn't odd enough) is that they cancelled my friend Cameron's account as well. For no other reason than I referred him, since he's in another state and has nothing whatsoever to do with me or my web site. When he called and asked them why, they said they could cancel anybody they wanted at any time - which is TRUE - but it seems like such a strange way to do business.
Maybe somebody is just having a REALLY bad day - but it still makes no sense.

Global2000Hosting, While we attempt to please all of our customers all the time, there are certain instances which are unavoidable, this is one of those situations.
The customers abusive language and failure to comply with our requests for proper dns for her domain resulted in the accounts termination.
First I must argue that our support dept only hung up on her because of foul language being used and we FULLY support the decision to end that call or any call from which a member of our staff is verbally abused!
Last week a full refund was issued to the customer without her asking for the refund as a result of an equipment failure of a very new server which she was placed on. We did apologize to her for the incident and explained in detail the action we had taken in ordering a replacement unit and explained all other actions taken in regard to the incident.
Her website was not down this morning it was immediately checked when she telephoned our office and again we noted she failed to comply with our request for dns changes to her domain name, resulting in a lame nameserver issue for her domain.
Being that we had previously issued a refund to her for her 1 month of hosting, {4.95} and that we had to deal with multiple hostile calls and emails from the customer we feel/felt this customer was not going to be satisfied if in any event.
The decision to terminate this customer and her referral were made by the owners of the company mainly due to the hostile nature of the customer and abusive language toward our staff.
Both customers were issued refunds cheerfully and the second customer received his files via email and his refund to his cc.
We further had to deal with her emailing a complaint to a reseller which we have done business with for 5 years, a reseller that has resold for us without incident and had nothing to do with her account, this is proof of her hostile actions and intentions.
We do not wish ill will towards her only that she take her money and move on to a company willing to deal with hostility and abusive language on a regular basis as our company has a zero tolerance policy for our staff being abused.
Cheers,
Happy Holidays,
Global2000Hosting

The entire chat session is posted - if someone would kindly point out which words were foul, I'd appreciate the education.
You know - everyone is entitled to their opinion - and my experiences should be taken as one of many.
The downtime I experienced using this provider is documented - and not being argued by the provider. The personal attacks against my character or my language are simply ways of distracting from the issues. I'm no saint - I never pretended to be - but I also haven't abused anybody. If calling to ask why my web site and email is not working is offensive to you - stop making promises for uptime that you can't deliver. It's as simple as that.
When choosing a web host - I would simply advise people to look at MANY reviews, weigh your options, and ask yourself what's most important. If price is your single most important factor, Global2000Hosting is certainly inexpensive.
But you could not pay me enough money on this earth to deal with someone who has so little regard for their patrons as to threaten legal action for sharing an opinion.

Global2000Hosting has expressed its opinion of this incident and we stand behind our decision to terminate an abusive customer in accordance with our policies, {those sections were omitted from the snip} It is not our intent to take away from your statement that you in fact had an incident at one point we acknowledge the units failure and we did refund your account as a result.
In conclusion you obtained free service, and yet find it necessary to contact our resellers to express yourself. This is confirmation that we made an accurate decision to terminate just by your actions of falsifying information and your clearly slanderous email to our reseller which was in no way involved with your account.
This concludes our entertainment of this incident.

Again - personal attacks without substance. It's very easy to make accusations without proof, and I believe that speaks for your credibility.
Look - I found a new provider - it's not the end of the world to have been "terminated" - but if I had seen a post like this, I may have saved myself the trouble. And THAT is my purpose in posting - in the hopes that someone else will be spared the hassle.
You also never explained why you terminated someone wholly unassociated with my account. It doesn't matter how cheerfully you gave him a refund, but I have no doubts he's scratching his head wondering what he'd done to deserve a no-notice termination.
I'll let him post his own opinions, however - as that's his battle and not mine.

There are always two sides of the story. I think we got both here.
