Orange Fiber Unmetred, Which os is best?


I'm going to order a server from orangefiber but cant decide on which of their operating systems i should use. Im going to be streaming videos and using cpanel.

which should i go for:

CentOS,
Debian,
FreeBSD,
Gentoo

Windows is best to stream videos, but depending on what exactly you are doing, they should all cope well.

Again it all depends on what os you are used too working with, If its managed ask them what they would prefer you used. CentOS is based on RHEL, so almost all hosts support that more than other os's.

If you are going for C-Panel CentOS generally is the most stable out of those choices.

On a personal level, I would probably choose Debian. However, the majority of people would choose CentOs. It really comes down to what you will be using the server for and what demands need met.

If your are going to use Cpanel, FreeBSD is also a good option. All our servers have this stable combination. Options: choose the OS you know best and/or choose the OS orangefiber supports best.

The best OS is the OS which you know how to use it , and your data center supported that OS too.
