iPowerWeb
Down or just me? I tried calling their support, it rang about 50 times and I gave up. Then I tried calling back and it was busy for about an hour. I tried their online support, no go, the box wouldnt load, was just white blank popup box. My site has been offline for about 5 hours I think now.
Anyone else with iPowerWeb having the same problems?

it's not loading for me. My suggestion would be to call them again. Also I would suggest moving to a different host as ipowerweb is not all that great.

Site doesn't load but they're definitely up. I'd also put in my vote to move to a new host.

Yep. They're down for me...for the past SEVERAL hours. Very frustrating. I was online buying tickets to a show for my parents. Sure would be nice to get that e-mail confirmation of my order...but no. Since iPower hosts my mail (and my parents), I have nothing...and with it being down for so long I suspect the ticket company's mail will time out, and I'll never get it. Lovely. Had a very brief chat with tech support tonight:
Ulises A.: Welcome to iPower Live Chat. How may I help you?
SRairigh: mail is down
SRairigh: so is my web site
Ulises A.: There are some network issues going on at the moment which will be corrected soon.So please allow the same.
Ulises A.: We are sorry for the inconvenience faced by you regarding this matter.
Ulises A.: Is there anything else I can help you with?
SRairigh: how long until resolution??
Ulises A.: I'm sorry but right now I'm having no ETA for the same
Ulises A.: But please be assured that it is been looked into and will be resolved very soon
Ulises A.: Thanks for your understanding and patience regarding this matter.
Ulises A.: Is there anything else I can help you with?
SRairigh: I guess not...just need mail back up. Thanks

I hate support people that use canned responses. They are too lazy to type it out.

I wouldn't even bother calling them VirusX. What's the point? I think this will be the last time iPowerWeb brings me down. It doesn't happen all the time, but it HAS happened several times in the past year or two. I don't have any super-important web site to host or anything (just my band). It's the e-mail that really pisses me off. E-mail down for 15 min or something, I can live with. Hours...no. Like I sad .... time out's will kill you. I can't stand the thought of inbound messages getting rejected not just for me, but my parents as well. I'm looking at HostGator now.

Stay away from companies that avoid the issue by using 'the same' after every line :pUlises A.: I'm sorry but right now I'm having no ETA for the same

The site loads fine but it appears to be that they are having some issues with their nameservers including the clients mail servers. IMO, this is not isolated issue, so they should be fixing this soon.

Well I sent this message to my users:
Ipowerweb response:
December 12, 2005 - Network Issue
A Vdeck feature update caused many of our customers to lose service availability. We have identified the issue and the sites currently effected will return to normal shortly.
-------------------------------------------
Because of this, Defending the truth lost over 300 very good posts and 8 new members. I am very disappointed with my hosting company because of this. In December I integrated the Blog Mod along with many other modifications.
I update this site at the first of every month just in case of a hacker..but in this case, it was the hosting company that &%*#($ up! Guy's i'm just really depressed right now because this month was getting to be one of the biggest months in member growth.
I didn't even receive an apology from my hosting company. Treay and his wife had a very large introduction and I am very upset that that was lost. New members as of December 1st, 2005..please keep in mind that this is the first time something like this ever happened to Defending the truth. New members will have to re-register their account.
What a ****ty way to start off the week...God i'm really upset...I'm very sorry guys.
I am new here and i'm definitely gonna need to look for a new host since mine will expire in about a month. Ipowerweb has brought my site down many times this year. This is definitely the worst!
A new thing they do is the mysql questions limit of 50,000. Anytime my limit is reached, my phpBB forums no longer works until that number resets in the next hour. I'm just very sick of Ipowerweb.
I can't really afford a dedicated server at the moment, so I was hoping to find a good hosting company that is truly up 99.9% of the time, has a lot of space/bandwidth and doesn't have a limit on the mysql queries.Last edited by RidinHighSpeeds; 12-13-2005 at 11:19 AM.

ipowerweb... well, I amused myself by checking on their customer satisfaction level in one place I know. In that place, there were 131 posts on ipowerweb. Only 27 of those people wanted to recommend the company to others....

I'm very sick of Ipowerweb. My site was down for 30 mins this morning...
Are their any good hosts out there?? I looked up dreamhost.com and they looked good. Then I did a google search for dreamhost sucks, and someone wrote a very long article about how horrible their tech support is.
I just need some shared hosting that can truly guarentee a 99.5% or higher uptime.
