    Start/Min/Max Servers Values

Can anyone suggest some good values for StartServers, MinServers, MaxServers for a site that gets ~10,000 visits/day on a 3ghz machine with 1Gb of ram. Im told correct values can greatly decrease the cpu load which seems to be very high right now.

    thanks

Try the following (note you really need to optimise based on the traffic you receive):

    KeepAlive On
    MaxKeepAliveRequests 100
    KeepAliveTimeout 5
    MinSpareServers 10
    MaxSpareServers 20
    StartServers 10
    MaxClients 250
    MaxRequestsPerChild 0

Install eaccelerator, that will speed up your PHP load times by a reasonable amount as well.

My current settigns are pretty close to that, so I guess i can't really improve much in that field. Im gonna set up eaccelerator and see what that does.

    thanks

What are your hardware specs? Also, what sort of traffic do you receive? If you get a lot of single image downloads it might be a good idea to turn of KeepAlive...

The information is in my original post. The server serves my php powered site, as well as a lot of images, videos and games.

Running "httpd status" from SSH will allow you to see how many idle servers. If you constantly have no idle servers, then you will need to further optimize your httpd.conf.

You should take a look into this during peak times.
