Question Layered Tech - What is the official word on this company?

Ok, I have beeen considering a move of my dedicated server to Layered Tech, but before I do anything I wanted to get some feedback on other users that have experiences with them.

What can you tell me about this company?

    Positives:
    Great network.
    Cheap servers.

    Negitaves:
Support can sometimes be a pain to deal with if you need anything more than reboots.
There is no flexibility with sales. If what you want is not listed on their site your going to have a hard time getting it.

Not agree with this, I opened many times tickets on sale requesting custom promotions to fit on my needs or budget, and eveyrtime they worked out something good for me.

Of course, I try to negociate allways, not to ask them to do what I want

Of course, the first part of negociation itīs allways ask what I want...
    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, don't touch this!

there has been literarry thousands of posts talking about LT's good and bad .. please read them before having the same answers from pretty much same people over and over again.... search is your friend..it will tell you more info to make up your own conclusions... so i hope you get your conclusion and be happy at the same time while your making your decisions to move in with them

I will put my 1 cent in. I had an LT Server for a while before going to TMS, great bang for the buck, I do not believe you can beat the combination of great bandwidth and cheap servers. I found the CS to be helpful for unmanaged.

    Thumbs down

I do not recommend this company.
I have server and I am moving, had arrived to make 3 collections followed in the card in one alone month.
The attendance is delayed and when necessary of reboot some times delay.

I have yet to have one problem with LT (have a couple machines with them). Reboots are done fast, support has always been great for me (I'm a night owl as well). They have gone above and beyond a couple times for me, and always meet my expectations. You just need to understand that they are 100% self managed. This means that if there is a problem and it's not hardware/network related it's your problem, don't expect them to hop in. Also understand that abuse can cause problems, but I believe this is more due to what Savvis requires than LT personally.

I have had a server with them for a few weeks. I know that its not a long enough time to give a good review, but, the server was setup within 72 hours of them approving my payment which is a plus. Server was setup correctly and worked fine from the start. My tickets were answered within 24 hours so I was happy. Needless to say, there was no downtime in the time I was with them, but that was just a few weeks.

I would recommend them especially if you are looking for an offsite backup service.

cheap, good network but support can be slow and i don't think they got anti DDOS in place like theplanet's tippingpoint system. however, i never got any DDOS since June 2005 until now thus good network

unfortuently i only have 1 server there at the moment (would love to get some more just to mess around with) i've been with them for more then a year now at the SAVVIS dc, bw/network has been rock solid and i haven't ever had to ask for more then a reboot - which was answered within 5minutes the only delay was that i forgot to add my root password!

i have been with fdc and sm and i defently rate LT above them

I have several servers with LT, so far very good - not a single glitch on the network, servers hardware problem-free. I never needed their support urgently so far, as everything working flawlessly, so can not comment on reboot speed. Their billing dept mistaken frewuently - check your invoices
