As you can see the "iowait" is rather high.. I don't have idea how to fix it - I'm compiled new kernel (2.6.14.2 instead of 2.x) but problem persits. Server also use a lot of swap.

Server specs: AMD Barton 3000+/1 GB RAM/36GB SCSI (main drive with Adaptec AIC-7892A U160/m controler) and 40 GB IDE drive for backup purposes.

I got also two other servers with specs like that (and more projects which eat a lot of resources on that machines) with kernel 2.6.x, same config files but.. IDE drives and there's no problem there..

Any idea what should I check?

    renegadeavenger,

Will you please stop telling people to stop using the kernel. Downgrading is putting their server at risk.

Besides I do not think that is centos 4.2

It appears that apache needs a optimize. Look at how much ram it is using. That is your problem right there. Enabling memory limit in php may do wonders. (you have to compile it in)
