    Well, other there have been at skilledhost?

    I just got "screwed" by them, and would even call it theft.
    They have rude support (well when they will answer) the support never answer more that about 2/10 qustions.

    Just wanted to know if anyone have been having trouble by them recent?

    I know there are tons of bad things about them on the net, but just wanted to here about "now"

    I've never heard of them and sorry to hear the problem you have with them.

    What problems did you encounter with them? Might want to elaborate the problem so everyone can read it.

    Well, after a short hosting period i found out that they were very rude from support and direct called me a cheapass, and i only asked about all there downtime and looooong loading. Think not that the right way to encourge someone to buy a bigger server from them.
    They dident answered alot of qustions, and seems like they dident care from there answers.

    I know from others on the net that they are rude in generel - i have found tons of bad reviews.
    When my email went down, i asked them to support me, but no answer. i dident had my email up for a month, even after 10's of requests of seeing why its not working.

    The control panel are not been updated or paid to plesk. i couldent even get a simple ftp up and running because the licens of plesk was out of date, and skilledhost dident care and just gave me som lame answers "we see into it" and nothing happed.

    When they got the info about me leaving them, they stopped by supporting me for a whole month, and i got one reply "well are you not leaving us?"
    That are so damn bad support - as there "skilled" name are a massiv joke.

    They took the time to rip my creditcard off, by $320 for extra BW.
    But the thing was that the month before i had to pay some extra for BW and that was ok. That was about $120.

    Then i dident do anything the last month to promote my site, and even got the visitors down to half somedays, but in generel way down from the last month, but they just ripped my creditcard for that BW.
    Then i asked them about some proff about this, and they just wrote some numbers down, and i dont se that as proff, and i told them i will get my bank to make a chargeback if i dident get any proff, and they just got nasty and lame.

    Here are some of there responses

    "if you try this im going to email every host you goto and tell them how you use all this bandwidth and now your trying a charge back.

    You owe us this and if you do a charge back we will sue you for the bandwidth and court cost as well as turn you into our collection agency and put this on your credit."

    Then i asked them again for real proff.. and they got even more nasty

    "you will never get a refund as long as you have a domain that was registered by us.
    xxxxxxx.net was registered by us and is owned by us.
    you have no right to use this domain or transfer it eiter."

    But the domain are not theres, its mine.
    Its not even reg. at skilled, but form another company, and i do have proff of this.

    Then i said to them that its my domain and they should do nothing to it..

    I got this reply

    "yes i do you stole the domain from us and we turned you in for it.
    go ahead and do a charge back and well fight it and win.
    we have proof that we registered xxxxx.net on july 7th for [name] through our registar. As we didn't agree for you to transfer this domain we are appealing the transfer with icann you can see we have the legal right to appeal the transfer.
    as you hacked and stole this domain."


    But i had transfred my domain to another spot, and i asked them to reply to the transfre mail, and they did.

    So its crap.
    So if they dont show up with a proff, like a true screenshot and a saying by there host, i will make that contact by my bank.

    Wauu.. now they will turn me in as a child porn hoster.. there are nothing they wont do i can se!

    I run a image upload service, and once i got a upload of some light child pics, and i do the right way, that i ban and traced the ip. reported the to the police for internet crime, and still have good contact with our police.

    but now i think they get over the line. they even said that they would show my source code online for all to se...

    did you tell them how you had child porn on your server over and over.
    you did use the bandwidth and then do a chargeback.
    as for support with a dedicated account we only support the
    hardware and network. Its not our job to tweak your server so you
    can get extra performance instead of paying or what you need.

    I also sent you a screenshot of bw that wasnt good for you.

    Also did you tell them we let you server on for 6 days free while you moved
    using around 400gb of bandwidth free that we never charged you for.

    Someone uploadede one time light child pics, and i did the right way to ban and trace to user, contacted the police here in my contrie - so whats you point stupid?

    and no i did not use that much BW as you charged my creditcard for, and thats steeling!. and if you read the emial i send today, you saw that i dident that chargeback as your talking about.
    And you do not support ****! your rude and nasty and should have been taken your licens from you!.

    And i asked for a single extra day for transfre my stuff to a new server, and it was you who let it opend for 6 days. And i can tell you why i used extra days to transfre... Acording to skilled i had a 100 mbit line, but i could only get a raw 512 download - so again you are full of **** and cheats the hell out of people.

    And do read the mail i send out later today, and i do mean what i wrote!

    You should save all your emails and file a lawsuit maybe? Although I think you did enough for them as this forum gets tons of views and therefore I think they just tons of customers.

    Hey man,

    I'm going through this too! I am with skilledhost, have been for a year. Their servers went down again.. yes again. They lost all my files, again. all my databases, everything. I have a backup of a month ago, and was going to do another backup on the first... few days shy.

    They are complete idiots there. I am an IT Manager for a local company, and I know the ins and outs. I chose skilledhost as they had the best prices around, and seemed reliable. Huge mistake.

    Trying to speak to tech support is like talking to a door. 18 emails back and forth, and not going anywhere.

    My last email was to cancel the account, and refund for this month. Im still down, no files, looking for a dedicated server where I can manage everything, and not let these little kids screw up my business.

    This is a weird situation, lets see what happens.

    What kind of a website do you have? Do you monitor your users and their uploads?

    Hey,

    I am also with "skilled" hosting... As I was refered to it from highvoltz. My websites have been down for two days. I sent them an email and no response. In the past it has been down before where all my sites turned into porn site advertisements for some odd reason. ( They told me something about being hacked or some bs. ) That didn't go over well because I run a website for my boss' company. Also now they are saying all data is lost... I have no backups of my databases. It is not my fault they can't run a business... They should keep backups of all files. There is only one good experience i had from them and that is in the past when I did need help they were quick to help me. But most reasons for needing help was their own mistakes...

    xsnowboard is a friend of mine who I reccomended to skilledhost (as well as another few people) We're going crazy trying to find another place to host as currently we have no email/web/etc due to skilledhost.

    I'm actually over in Pittsfield.. just noticed you're from Albany.. lol crazy

    Fair enough. Just funny to see all you guys posting about the same host, etc.. I stand corrected though. I just checked out skilledhosts.com site and half of it doesn't work, as well as other have having that famous latin gibberish that so many templates have. They don't even bother to modify their site to make it look unique. That's a big flag there in itself.

    Pittsfield eh? I'm rather new to Albany, is Pittsfield the place up north between Alb and Montreal on 87?

    Pittsfield is East of Albany, right on the NY / MA Border..

    Just take Rt 90 over to Rt 20... brings you right to downtown Pittsfield

    I used to work in Watervliet.. hour drive every day! sucked!

    I have also get in touch with a few other who once had servers at Skilled, and the one of them get his account cancled just because he was citical and asked some tech qustions, and kevin and Co at Skilled took it personal and closed down his account and deleted all.

    I really hope that skilledhost close down, and they are not allowed to make hosting service no more!.
    They are just a bounch of amateurs who want to scam and suck them dry of money.
