Where is the server located? About the datacenter: CalPOP is connected throughout the world via OC192 internet backbone fiber. CalPOP operates several networks and interconnects networks via BGP4 via CISCO 12000 GSR and JUNIPER routers. CalPOP offers true multi-homed gigabit connectivity with gigabit connections to Level 3, Williams, Global Crossing, YIPES, and XO. CalPOP has fiber to the PAIX and EQUINIX peering fabric and is located at: 600 W. 7th Street in Downtown Los Angeles - this is where AOL peers in LA and where you can cross connect to nearly any provider. CalPOP offers both quality network connectivity with private peering and also offers low cost and reliable network connectivity.
Is this a resold server? These servers are NOT resold. We currently occupy a full cabinet at CalPOP and own our own machines. We are not a middle man! We have techs close to the site to assist customers should there be any types of hardware failures. Reboots are processed quickly by CalPOP technicians.

What is BASIC MANAGEMENT? Includes control panel set-up/configuration, DNS set-up, basic security set-up, and general troubleshooting/support for your dedicated server.
How long until my server is ready? Servers are set-up and delivered within 12-48 hours of confirmed payment.
Why is the cost of cPanel so high at your California Point of Presence location? The price is $36.00 due to the fact that we receive NOC pricing direct from cPanel. We are a small dedicated server provider, and are not eligible for the large NOC pricing of $25 or less. We purchase cPanel licenses in blocks of 10 for $360.00 per month, which means that each license is $36.00 per month.

Is this a resold server? Yes, unlike our California Point of Presence location, we do not own these servers. We lease them from Layered Technologies, Inc. and resell them to customers with value-added Basic Management included.
** APC REMOTE REBOOT UNITS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THE SAVVIS DATACENTER.
How do I use HP's Lights-Out Technology? Lights Out Technology requires the use of one of the server's dedicated IPs, so that it can be accessed remotely to reboot/start/stop the machine. This allows you to reboot a machine that is down without using an APC Remote Reboot switch, which can cause harm to a server or result in file loss.
What is BASIC MANAGEMENT? Includes control panel set-up/configuration, DNS set-up, basic security set-up, and general troubleshooting/support for your dedicated server.
