I think it entirely depends on whether or not you pay a reasonable price for the bandwidth you are going to use. The unmetered transfer, in dedicated server terms, basically means you can transfer as much data as your port/server can handle. Of course theoretical maximums come into play, a port can only push so much data.
If you go with a cheap shared hosting plan offering unmetered transfer there is a high chance you'll get terminated for taking up too many server resources. To help us get a better idea of whether this is suitable for you we would need to know your current, and probably predicted bandwidth usage.
