MP3 Mixes, copyrighted?

Ok, heres the scenario:

Customer signs up then asks if he can upload his dj mixes for his users to download.

Now ive already said no as im under the assumption that the original artist retains the copyright therefore making distribution and hosting of the mixes illegal.

Would i be correct with this?
