Question

Where does the email go when...

Hello,

On a cPanel server, does anyone know where email sent to "cpanel@hostname.domain-name.com" goes to?

I've looked everywhere and can't seem to figure out where it's going.

Thanks.
Lamp

Login to WHM as root

Server Contacts > Change System Mail Preferences

Last entry is cpanel's mail.

Do you know when cpanel@hostname.domain-name.com is used by the cPanel box?

It seems as though it is randomly added to a list of cc's when one of my clients sets up an auto-responder.

Thanks.

On the "System Mail Preferences", there are the following notes:

Notes:

* root generally gets email about problems on the server, and normal server activity.
* nobody receives bounce message from email sent via cgi scripts if you are not using suexec.
* mailman generally receives only bounce messages from the mailman list software.

But there is nothing about cpanel mail. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
